Associate Finance Manager
Role Summary
Would you like to generate actionable insights to some of the largest fashion e-commerce in the world? We are currently looking for an Associate Manager, Finance – Accounting & Internal Control to join our Vietnam office. The successful candidate will be responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, executive, control and completion of strategic projects, while ensuring alignment with strategy, commitments and goals of the organization. The position works closely on business initiatives for growth, high team engagement and day to day running of the Engineering Team in Vietnam.
To be successful in this role, you are great at thinking strategically, developing and driving various business projects, and building strong relationships with stakeholders. The role reports to the Group Controller and Head of Tax of Zalora Group.
Responsibilities:
Accounting and Internal Control:
• Serve as the main point of contact for regional finance in addressing operational and financial matters.
• Manage project accounting entries and resolve all financial issues in coordination with regional finance.
• Oversee the accounting systems for both SAP (for group reporting) and MISA (for local statutory books).
• Provide financial and variance analysis upon request.
• Handle the monthly posting of Compensation & Benefits (C&B) accounting entries and the reconciliation of related C&B accounts. Support the Board of Directors (BOD) with budgeting, forecasting, legal considerations, and the overall management of Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts - Payable (AP), and Travel & Entertainment (T&E) expenses.
• Manage statutory reporting and Balance Sheet Reconciliation.
• Control direct and indirect costs in adherence to the budget.
• Develop accounting policies and procedures as needed to ensure finance and accounting staff understand the evolving needs of the company.
• Reconciliation reporting in SAP and MISA
Finance/ Treasury:
• Act as the primary liaison with banks for all related matters.
• Manage bank mandates and cash flow activities.
• Develop, analyze, and establish budget reports, providing monthly, quarterly, and yearly performance reviews.
• Oversee daily end-to-end payment processing.
• Design and implement payment control procedures and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor payment process effectiveness, identify inefficiencies, and suggest improvements.
• Monitor and manage daily cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for the company's ongoing payments.
• Prepare monthly cash projections, quarterly cash flow statements and variance analyses, and update cash flow forecasts monthly to secure adequate operational funds.
• Supervise cash collection and cashier operations at branches nationwide.
• Prepare and maintain all required internal and external banking documentation accurately and promptly, adhering to company policies and local banking regulations.
• Establish and maintain relationships with banks, negotiating terms for credit lines, time deposits, and foreign exchange transactions.
• Ensure all treasury operations comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Prepare monthly and yearly Treasury reports, CAPEX, offering insights to management.
• Manage relationships and working networks with relevant stakeholders.
• Manage the vendor master file and denied party screening, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare month-end and year-end closing activities for related accounts and reports, providing support for internal and external audits.
Tax:
• Manage both direct and indirect tax submission and compliance matters of the Vietnam entities under the Group to ensure compliance.
• Liaise with tax authorities, government agencies, tax consultants and other external parties on all tax matters for all the Vietnam entities under the Group.
• Provide ad-hoc advisory and planning for the Vietnam entities.
• Prepare / review transfer pricing (“TP”) documentation including CBCR report, and assist business / operating units in the implementation of TP requirements on related companies transactions.
• Manage all tax audits for the Vietnam entities under the group.
• Review tax clause/phrase included in the documents such as proposal/terms and conditions/contract.
• Implement tax risk management and set control procedural to business / operating units.
• Liaise with the business / operating units and advise on the tax implications from new business structure / new products.
• Keep abreast of the latest tax development and provide tax updates/training to the relevant business /operating units.
• Prepare tax budget forecast and periodical tax accounting reports required by the Group.
• Other ad hoc projects related to finance and tax matters.
Investment Project:
• Responsible for submitting investment project reports and statistical reports to state agencies and organizations.
• Responsible for IRC/ERC change implementation and other tasks related investment Project.
Requirement:• Degree in Accounting/Finance or Working towards professional accounting qualification such as CIMA, ACCA.
• Able to handle large data and have advanced Excel skills
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Good knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards
• Experience working with international staff-level accounting personnel is desirable.
• Experience preparing risk assessment analyses and developing working papers to perform tests of accounting records, internal controls, and accounting systems to ensure compliance with regulations, accounting principles, cost accounting standards, and contract/agreement provisions
