Custom Compliance Specialist
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain a strong working relationship with Custom officials and other government agencies in Malaysia and act as their primary contact.
- Be well versed in Public Bonded Warehouse and Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) regulations.
- Monitor and keep up to date to all regulatory & legislative changes in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Brunei, Indonesia and Philippines within the footwear, apparel and beauty industry to ensure the Company is compliant to regulations, as well as taking advantage of all available programs.
- Supports any Customs audits and be in charge of renewal of both the Public Bonded Warehouse license and AEO license.
- Manage the Company’s Compliance programs (ie carry out internal audit)
- Provide guidance to the Company’s Custom Brokerage team and Daily Import operations team in order to provide best-in-class service and duty & tax saving opportunities.
- Any changes in internal processes required due to new regulations enforced, to be the stakeholder to coordinate with internal departments to implement any internal changes.
- Provide Custom expertise to the inter company teams, whenever there is a new business model or initiatives.
- Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration or other related field.
- Having more than 5 years of progressive freight forwarding and/or supply chain experience with ocean and air products
- Operate at a fast pace and changing environment.
- Organised, proactive and results oriented.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to analyze processes and information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies.
- Commitment to providing exceptional service to customers and providers support to staff members.
