ABOUT THE FUNCTION

 

The Group Shared Functions (GSF) support the growth of all our eCommerce companies #regionfirst. Our Shared Function offices are in the UK, Germany and Luxembourg and based in regional offices in Singapore, Vietnam, China, Malaysia and Sydney. We are a team of over 180 people working in Legal, Finance, Strategic Partnerships, People & Culture, Tech Sourcing and Sustainability. It’s an exciting time to join the group Sourcing function as we undertake a own-brand sourcing transformation and reframe our approach to deliver our commercial and sustainability goals.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT: 40%

  • Establish and enhance good communications relationships with HQ through provision of quality service to maximize business growth. Partner with cross functional teams to ensure all development activities are delivered on time, meet all required specifications and at the agreed quality level. Day to Day coordination with suppliers, buyers and designers on seasonal developments
  • Assess product costing to ensure target price aligns with product designs, and review & validate costing information through the entire creation process. Provide feedback to design and buying teams, and incorporate quality & cost improvements without sacrificing product aesthetics
  • Establish and maintain strong Coordination and collaboration with garment technical, buying, and fabric teams, as required. 
  • Follow up with lab dip, strike off, material development in daily work with our suppliers and own brand team.

PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT: 50%

  • Provide day to day merchandising activities with suppliers throughout the entire order process to ensure satisfaction rate and on time delivery. Pro-actively work with cross functional teams to assess potential supply chain disruptions, enable back up strategies and to provide sustainable production manufacturing solutions.
  • Review and sign off of bulk materials and shipment samples according to the Critical Path (CP) timelines. Keep clear records of all communications and approvals in an orderly fashion for future reference.
  • Act as gate keeper to monitor and report on adherence to critical path calendars.

OTHER DUTIES: 10%

  • Any other duties the Employee may be instructed to carry out by the manager from time to time that are reasonably within the scope of the Employee's job position and work capabilities.

 

WHAT WILL YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

 

  • Tertiary qualification in (Fashion) Design or comparable training in this area.
  • 3-5 years working experience within a similar role preferred. Those with more experience will be considered for Senior Merchandiser.
  • Strong garment construction and technical experience across multi product areas.
  • Solid knowledge of garment specification, technical fit with grading experience.
  • Strong communication skills with both offshore suppliers and internal departments.
  • Excellent understanding of critical path and timelines, with amazing time management skills.
  • Organised with impeccable attention to detail, with an ability to anticipate problems and provide suitable solutions.
  • Willing to learn and adapt new things, strong result-orient and problem solving skills.
  • Good written and spoken English communication skills.
