Summary of the Role

The FC Operations team is vital to ZALORA's success. Our teams are dedicated to efficiently processing and dispatching orders, ensuring our customers receive their items on time, thereby enhancing their overall experience. This level of service wouldn't be possible without our FC Operations Managers, who drive excellence in safety, quality, and productivity across all our sites. In this role, you will lead an Associate Manager and a team of Supervisors, developing an operational plan to help your teams meet their targets. This position is crucial in driving operational excellence and building an outstanding ZALORA fulfillment team.

About The Team 

FC teams are the first point of contact in ensuring customers receive their products with the speed ZALORA is known for. Based in our Fulfillment Center in the Philippines —the heart of ZALORA's fast-paced operations network—we manage dynamic inventory and facilitate speedy deliveries around the clock. Our fulfillment center benefits from a diverse workforce, creating opportunities for various skill sets. Some team members handle physical products, while others analyze data to support informed decision-making across the business.

  • Kaizen Leadership 
    • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement through small , incremental changes , and focusing on data driven decision making to achieve better outcomes and of course “Go to Gemba” observe the challenges firsthand on site - learning to see mindset.

    • Developing a strong team through coaching- focus on clear communication and defining roles and responsibilities . You are the person who will foster trust and collaborations , encouraging open feedback and celebrating achievements while promoting a culture of continuous learning and development. 
    • Empowerment - give team members the autonomy and resources they need to make decisions and team ownership.
  • Operational Excellence 
    • Lean Management - focuses on maximizing value by minimizing waste and optimizing processes . 
    • Six Sigma - aims to improve quality and efficiency by reducing variability and defects through Focus Improvement ( FI ) program.
    • Promote ZALORA’s problem solving methodologies GSTD “ Go-See, Think , Do” to tackle day to day issues , involving observation, analysis and action. 
  • Management of Performance 
    • Be on top of the FC KPIs and productivity . Always analyzing teams’ performance metrics and raising the bar and incentivizing the teams necessarily. 
    • Investigate the processes, Turn Around Time ( TAT )  and establish a lean approach to eliminate all unnecessary wastes and improve productivity and TAT.  
    • Action bias / results driven attitude  - take ownership in managing FC- OKRs ( Objective Key Results ) and ensure all goals keeping track with action updates and closure within the given timeframe. 
  • Management of Costs
    • Optimize staffing levels and scheduling to minimize manpower cost without compromising efficiency. 
    • Reduce packaging cost, optimize packaging to reduce material and shipping cost. 
    • Inventory accuracy - ensure accurate inventory records to minimize errors, reduce wasted times , avoid orders cancelations and prevent costly discrepancy.  
    • Inventory optimization - identify and eliminate slow moving or obsolete inventory to free up space and reduce storage cost. 
  • Management of Quality 
    • Clearly articulate what “quality” means to the team members , including product integrity , handling procedures and defect classifications. 
    • Quality control checks - provide training on how to perform quality control checks at various stages of the fulfillment process , including visual inspections , sampling - AQL , and RS ( Return to suppliers ) . 
    • Introduce Quality Management System ( ISO 9001:2015 ) - explain the purpose and benefits of having a structured QMS , such as waste reduction , improving efficiency , standardization and ensuring compliances.
  • Management of FC OSHA / Security
    • Work collaboratively with the EHS / Security department in prioritizing health and safety of the FC teams above everything else this includes cultivating the safety mindset to all of the FC employees and compliance to ISO 45001 and TAPA - FSR 
    • Direct involvement in safety training sessions such as MHE / machinery handling, emergency procedure , and improvement on fire safety measures this includes regular fire drills. 
    • Lead FC’s Business Continuity Plan ( BCP ) - focus on minimizing disruption impact and swiftly resume operations during emergencies by identifying risks, developing recovery strategies , and ensuring the continuity of fulfillment operations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years warehouse management experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations or related strongly preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of warehouse management procedures.
  • Proficient knowledge of inventory and inventory controls.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Outstanding leadership, organizational, multitasking and problem-solving skills and the ability to work on a tactical and strategic level.
  • People management skills, including the ability to lead and motivate others, delegate work and explain ideas.
  • The ability to work as part of a team.
  • Technical and IT skills, particularly when it comes to database management and spreadsheets.
  • The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
