Job Summary

Our Regional HR Business Partner (HRBP) plays a pivotal role in driving ZALORA’s people agenda across multiple markets, partnering closely with the Senior Management Team (SMT) to shape and execute strategic People & Culture (P&C) initiatives that enable business growth and organizational effectiveness. 

This role involves both strategic partnership and hands-on P&C delivery from organization design, talent management, and performance enablement to employee engagement and change management. The regional HRBP will be a trusted advisor to senior leaders, balancing employee needs with business objectives to create integrated solutions. He/She is also expected to contribute to policy formulation as thought partners, enabling P&C policies and practices that will lead to higher employee engagement and desired business outcomes.

The successful candidate will be a proactive, commercially minded HR leader who thrives in dynamic environments, with the ability to balance long-term strategic impact with agile, hands-on execution across the region.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Partnership

  • Serve as a strategic and trusted advisor to the SMT, providing thought leadership on people strategy and organizational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with leaders to co-create and implement P&C strategies and initiatives that directly support business and department goals.
  • Influence leadership decisions with strong business acumen, data-driven insights, and an understanding of regional workforce dynamics as well as local practices and regulations in the Southeast Asia region. 

Strategic Workforce Planning and Management

  • Develop and manage the annual manpower plan, organization design, and payroll budget in partnership with the SMT.
  • Support organizational transformation or restructuring initiatives by guiding leaders and employees through change with effective communication and engagement strategies.
  • Ensure effective succession planning and talent mobility across the organisation to build a future-ready workforce.

Employee Engagement and Culture

  • Act as a pulse-keeper for employee sentiment, surfacing insights from surveys, conversations, and engagement channels.
  • Support the design and execution of employee engagement initiatives, analyze survey results, and partner with leaders to implement targeted action plans.
  • Champion inclusion, belonging, and well-being initiatives that strengthen ZALORA’s culture and employee experience.

Employee Relations

  • Act as a trusted advisor to both employees and leaders, guiding fair and consistent resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Advise line managers on conflict management, disciplinary matters, and grievance handling in compliance with local labor laws and internal policies.
  • Promote a culture of trust, transparency, and respect across the organization.

Learning and Development

  • Partner with the Talent Development team and business leaders to identify learning needs and align development programs to capability priorities.
  • Support leadership development and continuous learning initiatives to equip employees with future-focused skills.
  • Encourage a growth mindset and performance-oriented culture through coaching and career development conversations.

Data Analysis and Insights

  • Leverage P&C metrics and analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that inform decision-making.
  • Prepare Organisational Health reports and provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve talent and organizational outcomes.

Project Management

  • Lead and/or support regional and cross-functional P&C projects aimed at improving processes, policies, and employee experience.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and P&C service delivery.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in HR business partnering is required, ideally including at least 3 years in a multi-country or regional role with exposure to the operations or logistics sectors.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations in the Southeast Asia region
  • Ability to build and effectively relationships with people at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, be adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity and managing competing priorities
  • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership, whilst also being part of a collaborative P&C team.
  • Ability to influence, and coach leaders in culture and engagement, organizational design and lead organizational change initiatives.
  • Demonstrable experience with HR metrics and data-driven decision-making
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, and presentation skill
  • Work location and expectations: Successful applicant is expected to be present at the office for work (5 days work week); operating from 2 locations, either at Mercu 3, KL Eco City (2 or 3 days per week)  and Zalora Fulfilment Center at Section 23, Shah Alam (2 or 3 days per week)
